A site that everyone can use.
My commitment to accessibility — and how to reach me if something here gets in your way.
My commitment
I want fanshenthompson.com to be usable by everyone — including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, or other assistive technologies. Therapy is about being met where you are; the website that introduces my practice should be no different.
Conformance status
This site aims to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make digital content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities — including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological differences.
What I’ve done
- Semantic HTML structure with a single
<h1>per page - Color contrast checked for body text and interactive elements
- Keyboard-navigable interactive elements with visible focus styles
- Descriptive alt text on meaningful images
- Form fields with associated
<label>elements - ARIA labels on icon-only controls
- Responsive layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling
- Reduced-motion support honors the operating-system preference
Known limitations
Accessibility is ongoing work. If you encounter content that does not meet WCAG 2.1 AA — for example a missing alt text, a low-contrast element, or an interaction that doesn’t work with your assistive technology — please let me know so I can fix it.
