    This Privacy Policy describes how Fanshen Thompson, LCSW ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information from visitors to fanshenthompson.com (the "Site"). This Site is informational. It is not a portal for therapy services and does not transmit, store, or process protected health information (PHI). Clinical communications between Fanshen Thompson, LCSW and clients are conducted exclusively through HIPAA-compliant channels separate from this Site.

    1. Information We Collect

    • Information you provide. When you complete the consultation inquiry form, we collect your name, email address, optional phone number, and the service type you select. We ask that you do not include clinical, medical, or sensitive health details in any free-text field on this Site.
    • Automatically collected information. With your consent (see Section 5), we may collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, and pages visited via cookies and analytics tools.

    2. How We Use Information

    • To respond to consultation inquiries.
    • To schedule introductory calls.
    • To improve the Site's content and performance.
    • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

    We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising profiling.

    3. How We Share Information

    We share information only with service providers strictly necessary to operate the Site (e.g., website hosting, email delivery, scheduling), and only as required by law. These providers are contractually bound to protect your information.

    4. Data Retention

    Inquiry form submissions are retained for up to 24 months unless a longer retention period is required by law. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).

    5. Cookies and Analytics

    We use a granular cookie consent system. Functional cookies (required for the Site to operate) are always on. Analytics and marketing cookies are off by default and only enabled if you opt in. You may change your preferences at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.

    If analytics are enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 with IP address anonymization. We do not load Meta Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, or session-recording tools on the contact page, thank-you page, privacy policy, or notice of privacy practices.

    6. California Residents — Your Privacy Rights

    Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccurate information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
